Communication ID, Zebra Uno and Lexicon Signstream are our new sponsors for the DPDC Derby Event!

We are delighted to announce that Communication ID, Zebra Uno and Lexicon Signstream have all stepped in to sponsor £200 each to help fund the DPDC event in Derby on Saturday October 5th.

Clarion are also providing us with free interpreting support for three hours through their generous ‘Community Chest’ scheme which you can learn more about here.

Sadly we have faced a bigger than usual struggle to find enough money to fund the event, we are still looking for £600. We have worked very hard to bring the costs down where possible, and some of the suppliers have kindly agreed to reduce their costs.

Such is the demand of the event, it was full within a week of the information going up, we even have parents travelling without kids to attend the workshop as the creche is unable to take any more kids.

The parents workshop is chaired by myself, we cover topics such as the changes to the SEN statements, communication support at schools, finding funds to pay for interpreters at parents meetings or after school clubs/activities, dealing with different attitudes from audiologists and so on. All these topics are specific to the issues that deaf parents of deaf children face. Parents are also given the opportunity to discuss their own issues and challenges, and ask for advice and support from everyone in the room.

If you want to sponsor us you can either pay us via online banking or send a cheque. Please find the details below.

We would be so overjoyed if you could provide any financial support to ensure this event goes ahead as planned.
