DPDC Bowood – Saturday 8th July 2017

Five more days until the annual DPDC fun day out at Bowood House! We’re so excited to see you all again and meet some new and old faces.

To make the most of the day we have an agenda which will ensure everyone gets a chance to meet everyone and allow kids plenty of opportunities to play and make new friends!

11am – Gate opens!

Come and find out DPDC space at the back of the adventure playground. Look for our DPDC banner! Bring packed lunches and blankets.

11am –  Free play at the adventure playground!

12pm – DPDC introductions

This is your chance to introduce your family to everyone and learn about everyone at the event. In your introduction we’d like you to introduce your family to the group, tell everyone what’s on your mind right now (this could be schools, statements, interpreter support, CI’s, hearing aids etc!). This is so people can introduce themselves to you if they feel they have information to share or if they are in the same boat and are looking for support.

1pm – 2.30pm – Picnic lunch (Bring your own!)

3pm – Walk to Bowood House for group fun and games

We will all walk to Bowood House for some group fun and games next to the beautiful lake. If you have bags, picnic chairs etc, we recommend that you return them to the car before the walk starts at 3pm.

4-5pm – Waterfall and cave stroll

This is a big favourite, as a group we will explore part of the grounds, who will be brave enough this year to walk through the pitch black caves?

6pm – Gate closes!

Weather: So far it’s looking dry!

This is an event for deaf parents with deaf children. If there one parent that is hearing – they are very welcome! Hearing brothers and sisters are also very welcome!

Please share!
